About Me.

Malcolm Hyneman is a distinguished rising composer, producer, and multi-hyphenate artist whose work bridges the worlds of cinematic orchestration, classical composition, and elite modern production. A versatile presence in the industry, Hyneman served as both a featured artist and producer on the track "Choice" from the 2026 Grammy-nominated album A Hurricane in Heels by legendary poet and three-time nominee Queen Sheba.

A graduate of  The Los Angeles Film School and a Recording Academy Member (Class of 2025), Hyneman is a true multi-instrumentalist and has the ability for vocals as well. He commands the bass, piano, and percussion, bringing a tactile, musician-first approach to every project. His expertise extends into the realm of television and film, where he is credited as a producer for an episode of the award-winning series Moments. Hyneman’s career is marked by a high-caliber portfolio of collaborations, lending his creative vision to projects featuring NAACP Image Award-nominated actress Rutina Wesley (Queen Sugar, True Blood), Grammy-winning hip-hop pioneer Doodlebug (of Digable Planets), and Latin Grammy nominee Tamela Hedström. (Malachi River's 2025 Spoken Word Poetry album No Signal) Malcolm made history by having his produced music featured on the Black Music Forever station on Pandora and placements overseas on the UK radio show called Soul Freedom for song title WYABYLIMB ft. Sy Smith.

With a reputation for technical precision, Hyneman’s sound is a sophisticated blend of R&B, Jazz, Hip-Hop, and Classical, often punctuated by bold, experimental textures. His international reach includes providing string arrangements and composing for the album CLOWN OR CROWN by Japanese star Rikimaru Chikada. His orchestral depth is further showcased in works like "Beyond Love," a testament to his ability to weave complex, emotive arrangements.

Deeply committed to the history and study of his craft, Hyneman’s musicality is rooted in elite mentorship. He has been mentored by the legendary bassist, arranger, and composer John Clayton, as well as the Gospel great from Cleveland, Helen Turner Thompson. His technical prowess was further refined through intensive study with the renowned pianist Lafayette Carthon and Dr. William B. Woods of the Cleveland School of the Arts.

Because of this rare ability to navigate seamlessly between gritty hip-hop production and grand-scale orchestral scoring, Hyneman is often described by peers as a "Quincy Jones-type" figure—a talent who remains fluently engaged in every chair in the studio. Whether crafting sweeping cinematic scores or driving contemporary innovation with a well-rounded command of the boards and the pencil, Hyneman’s work continues to define the modern intersection of classical tradition and soulful production. Above the accolades, he is driven by a singular, guiding philosophy: “Always remember to inspire one.” He truly believes that if you can inspire one person, you have the power to inspire the world.
